About Me

‘It is important to make buildings in which the users find freedom’ - Anne Lacaton
My name is Rebecca Weller, I qualified as a part II architectural assistant in July 2025, completing my MA at the Royal College of Art.
I am a spatial designer and researcher based in London. My work explores the intersection of architecture, art, ecology and material extractivism. I advocate for a place-based design methodology that prioritises local material sourcing, manufacturing, and construction practices while preserving and highlighting the unique qualities and histories of a site.
Prior to studying architecture at RCA, I obtained a First-Class bachelor’s degree in history of art from Bristol University, my final thesis focussed on the installation work of Donald Rodney. I completed my Part I in architecture at Westminster University, receiving the final year award for my commitment to sustainable approaches. I also have hands-on experience volunteering in Malaysian Borneo, working with a remote village community on a self-built Kindergarten project.
